State House has reiterated that President Hage Geingob is in good health, dismissing a report in a local daily that the Namibian Head of State was advised to prioritise his health.

In a statement, the Presidency emphasised that Dr. Geingob has remained transparent in disclosing his health status, both when an aortic procedure was performed on him recently and when he was admitted to a local hospital.

The statement described the report in the local daily, which referred to a video circulated on TikTok, as baseless and an attempt to deviate from the good work that the President is carrying out during his tenure as Chairman of the Organ on Politics and Defence.

The Presidency also questioned why the paper did not report on the summit and instead chose to make the TikTok video its headline.

Throughout the week, the Presidency says, it made it clear to the paper that the circulated video was baseless and was an attempt to deviate from the good work of the President.

The Presidency asserts that the newspaper's emphasis appears to be on rumours concerning President Geingob's health rather than addressing substantive topics discussed during last week's SADC Organ Troika in Angola.

In the released statement, Presidential Press Secretary, Dr. Alfredo Hengari, asserted that the primary purpose of today's newspaper article was to sow uncertainty among readers about President Geingob's well-being.
