The sound bilateral ties between Namibia and Tanzania have entered the stage of economic diplomacy.

President Hage Geingob commended the outgoing High Commissioner, Dr. Modestus Kipilimba, for actively promoting cooperation in this regard.

Dr. Kipilimba is ending his tour of diplomatic duty in Namibia, and as a satisfied Head of Mission, he outlined achievements during the last three years.

He is the first resident diplomat after the Tanzanian government opened its diplomatic mission in 2021, after years of concurrently serving Namibia from South Africa.

Since then, he says, a number of trade agreements, educational programme exchanges, and private sector engagements have taken place between the two countries.

President Geingob is proud that African countries remain consistent in seeking out ways to promote economic diplomacy, be it intrastate or interstate.

Namibian and Tanzanian relations have come of age since the dark days of the liberation struggle.

The president says he is encouraged by the efforts to increase trade in all aspects.
