42-year-old Malakia Shipanga was denied bail during his first appearance in the Walvis Bay Magistrate's Court for the murder of a 36-year-old man in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay, over the weekend.

According to the incident report provided by the Erongo Police, a fight broke out at a house on Kilimandjaro Street in the Tutaleni suburb of Kuisebmond around 15:20 on Sunday.

It is reported that a group of friends and relatives, accompanied by the victim, went to the suspect's house and confronted him to explain why he was frequenting the victim's yard after numerous warnings not to do so.

The suspect allegedly became aggressive and started pushing the victim. He pulled a knife from his waist and stabbed the victim twice—once on the right side of his neck and another blow on the upper left side of his arm. The victim died at the scene.

The court objected to bail in this matter as investigations are at an early stage and the matter has public interest as well as fear for the safety of the accused person.

The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Vilho Haipanguli.
