The Swapo Party Coordinator for the Otjozondjupa Region says the region is no longer the subject of attention from the party's headquarters and the national leaders assigned to it because of divisions that had plagued it in the past.

Imms Namaseb said that unity has since been restored after experiencing divisions among party members at all levels that led to intense rivalry and smear campaigns among the party faithful.

"That time is gone. Otjozondjupa is united. We have been having those smaller issues, as you have mentioned, especially in some of the districts, but we have leadership that has come in and immediately worked on uniting the masses in Otjozondjupa, and that's the only way we will be able to prosper and be able to bring Otjozondjupa back where we were supposed to as the mighty Otjozondjupa."

Namaseb says they all rally behind the party's vice president and presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah, who held a rally at Otjiwarongo on Saturday.

The regional leadership is also planning a roundtable discussion to be held on Sunday.
