In a legal battle unfolding in the Windhoek High Court, the Health Defence League and several individuals are challenging the information and regulations surrounding the COVID-19 vaccination in the country.

The case, presided over by Judge Hosea Angula, ignites discussions about how vaccines are administered and the public's right to clear information.

The group bringing the case to court includes the Health Defence League and individuals such as Monika Ruppel, Manfred Jochen Försch, Werner Gertz, and Paul Du Plessis, represented by lawyer Richard Metcalfe.

The group is challenging the Ministers of Health and Social Services and Education, Arts, and Culture, the Attorney General, the President, the Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council, and the Government.

They want the Minister of Health and Social Services to reveal where they got their information about the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines for people with chronic illnesses and their ability to prevent severe illness and death from COVID-19.

They want to know about any potential side effects of vaccines approved by the government.

The applicants argue that the way the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine was given to the public was not done correctly because it wasn't registered or exempted as required by the law.

They believe that certain forms signed by their members and others, which protect the government and Pfizer from legal claims, should be declared invalid.

The applicants have also been allowed to apply for this declaration within a specific timeframe.

This case raises concerns about how open and clear the government is about COVID-19 vaccines.

It also looks into how vaccines are given and potential legal issues.

As the court case unfolds, the government authorities involved will present their side of the story.
