The ||Kharas Police Commander, Commissioner Marius Katamila, has reminded the region's inhabitants to also play their part to ensure a safer festive season.

He made the call during the launch of the region's festive operations at Keetmanshoop.

The operation aims to raise police visibility, improve road safety, and provide robust law enforcement to ensure compliance with traffic rules and regulations.

"It takes a lot of planning, commitment, and determination to make this campaign a success. We are thus pleading with all stakeholders, including drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and the road fraternity at large, to work together to bring about the success of this festive season campaign."

Commissioner Katamila urged the law enforcement officers to remain vigilant and committed in the execution of their duties.

Also speaking at the launch was the Road Authority Regional Head for ||Kharas, Johan Blaauw.

"Traffic law enforcement should be prosecuted in a proactive, goal-directed, and uniform manner towards road users. The main objective should therefore be to achieve an attitudinal change and to secure assistance and voluntary compliance for all users utilising the road."
