Family members of 18-year-old Malaka Sipilikita, who was shot by an unknown person at Rundu, are still seeking closure as the investigation is still ongoing.
It's been three months, and no one has been arrested in connection with Sipilikita's murder.
It is suspected that Malaka Sipilikita was shot in the chest by an unknown person while walking in the evening.
As he waits for the police to do their work, the father of the late Sipilikita, Alloys Sipilikita, says he has a lot of thoughts and scenarios about his son's death.
He says until now he did not hear any news from the investigators as to how far they have gone with the matter.
"What hurts me most is that people that were there knew him and people that knew me. When the boy was asking for help, they said, No, wait for the police. According to what I heard, some of the people from the police were present there. If they just followed the conversation they had on the neighbourhood WhatsApp group on that day until they said we killed an innocent person, it would help. We gave all the information, but nothing is materialising."
The father says he has lost his right-hand man.
"I want the police to help me find the person who killed my son. By knowing who killed my son, maybe my heart will be at peace. How do you want me to be? I lost my son, and I don't know who killed my son. I never heard that my son stole something, even at their school. I was with some of his teachers, who described him as a very friendly good person. Even people in this location know that. A lot of people were here during his passing, and they all described him as peaceful. I will always think of my son until my death."
His friends say he was their shoulder to lean on.
The Police Head of Public Relations, Kauna Shikwambi, says the sworn statements of some potential witnesses were recorded, and the process is still ongoing.
Deputy Commissioner Shikwambi is appealing to anyone who has information on this matter to contact Chief Inspector Kavara in Rundu.
