Namibian Police Station Commanders for B-Class Police Stations from 13 regions of the country, with the exception of the Oshana Region, have been urged to continuously learn and develop as they lead their subordinates to ensure effective and knowledgeable management.

The 39 station commanders are currently undergoing a programme that seeks to equip them with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively lead their respective stations and communities.

The Namibian Police Force underscores the importance of strong leadership within law enforcement agencies, as it is the stepping stone towards ensuring that communities are well served and protected.

Deputy Inspector General for Operations Elias Mutota says it also aims to equip police station commanders with modern leadership techniques, effective communication strategies, and innovative problem-solving approaches.

"Remember that leadership is not a solitary endeavour; it thrives in collaboration, empathy, and understanding. True leaders don't stand on pedestals but shoulder to shoulder with their teams, facing challenges head-on and celebrating victory."

The undertaking also fosters a collaborative environment, allowing station commanders from different regions to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build valuable networks.

NIPAM representative Medusalem Kandume says these interactions promote cross-regional learning and enable participants to develop a broader perspective on law enforcement strategies and challenges nationwide.
