The Namibian Broadcasting Cooperation held a candlelight vigil at its TV headquarters on Culinan Street in honour of the late President Hage Geingob.

The event held on the Good Morning Namibia programme in Studio 2 was attended by the nbc Board members, senior leadership of the cooperation, and employees most clad in black attire.

Kaisames FM media planner, Jackey !Gaoseb started with a moving rendition.

Spiritual leader Dr. André September then preceded with a prayer to soothe hearts.

In his remembrance speech, nbc Board chairperson Lazarus Jacobs narrated how the late leader of the country was an avid viewer and listener of nbc products.

Jacobs urged nbc employees to do justice in relaying information to the public, as nbc was the designated broadcaster for the official memorial and state funeral service.

Meanwhile, nbc's Director General Stanley Similo applauded the efforts and hard work of nbc employees who have been on their toes since the announcement of Dr. Geingob's death early Sunday morning.

He too also touched on how Late Geingob Hage Geingob was a passionate fan of nbc programmes on all mediums.

The event ended with a moment of silence and the signing of a book of condolences.
