Bannerman Mining Resources has unveiled new leadership with the appointment of Twapewa Kadhikwa as chairperson and Werner Ewald as CEO.

Both appointments signal a new chapter in the life of the company as it seeks to advance its Etango billion-dollar mining project.

Werner Ewald, the newly appointed CEO, revealed that the company is actively raising capital for the construction of its Etango mining project.

The project, estimated to cost between N$6 billion and N$7 billion, is a significant undertaking for the company.

"Without a mining licence, it was extremely difficult to start the process of funding this mine and also to submit proposals to nuclear facilities around the world because, without a mining licence, you are unable to say you're going to produce something. This is what we are busy with at the moment: putting in proposals for nuclear facilities. We are busy with our strategic financing of this project. To build the mine, it will cost approximately 350 million US dollars, which is 6 to 7 billion Namibian dollars. We don't have that yet, and we are busy."

On the other hand, Twapewa Kadhikwa, with 14 years of experience in corporate governance and as a trustee of Rossing Mining, steps into her role with a clear vision for the company's future. Her leadership is expected to bring a balanced approach to the company's operations, aligning with its goals of responsible mining practices and positive community engagement, which she states is steward leadership.

"Steward leadership with a clear understanding that the mine is not ours, it's not Twapewa's, it's not Werners, it belongs to the one who created uranium, but us as the leaders, the managers, and the technicians, we will do good with uranium, so my leadership style is steward-leadership, knowing very well we need to be conscious, being aware, and knowing that Namibia looks a certain way, but also knowing that we need to be sustainable."

The dual appointments of Kadhikwa and Ewald come at a pivotal time for Bannerman Mining Resources. Kadhikwa's exposure to corporate governance, coupled with Ewald's strong approach to raising capital for the Etango project, makes the company appear poised for growth and success in the coming years.
