The personal physician of the Founding President, Sam Nujoma, has dispelled rumours that he has died.
Dr. Tshali Iithete informed nbc News that Nujoma was hospitalised last week but has since been discharged.
Dr. Iithete has called on members of the public to desist from spreading false rumours, saying they're damaging to the presidential family and the entire nation at large.
"I just wish to clarify that Founding President Dr. Sam Nujoma is at home at his residence in Windhoek. He was hospitalised about a week ago and is recuperating well at home. I wanted to clarify to the viewers and listeners the state of his health and that he is recuperating well at home. He is waiting to celebrate his 95th birthday tomorrow, May 12, 2024."
The Founding President will celebrate his 95th birthday at his Windhoek residence on Sunday with close family members.
