All roads lead to Walvis Bay Independence Beach, where about 600 people are expected to attend the World Ocean Day celebrations hosted by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources.

Preparations for the day are in full swing, which is to be celebrated under the theme 'Catalysing Action for Our Oceans and Climate'.

During the week, several awareness events were held at the coastal towns of Henties Bay, Walvis Bay, Oranjamund, Luderitz, and Swakopmund.

The different activities were geared towards ocean conservation and raising awareness about the ocean, as well as educating the young generation on the ocean, and beach clean-up campaigns were conducted.

President Nangolo Mbumba will be the keynote speaker at tomorrow's event.
