The Debmarine Desert Jewels Netball team clinched the bronze medal  at the Pacific Netball Series held in Brisbane, Australia, from June 10 to June 15.

This was achieved after they beat Samoa 54-36  last week Saturday. 

In the six-day tournament, Namibia's Desert Jewels competed fiercely, playing six games and finishing with a commendable record of four wins and two losses.

On day one, they lost to Samoa 55-74.On day two, they defeated Tonga 54-51, while on day three, they secured another win against Singapore 58-45, before they narrowly lost to Australia's First Nation team 41-45 in their fourth game of the series.

In their fifth group match, the Land of Brave girls suffered another defeat to Fiji, losing 57-66.

Despite these setbacks, Namibia's strong performance allowed them to compete for the bronze medal. 

In the final playoff match, they triumphed over Samoa with a score of 54-36 to secure third place. The Desert Jewels' achievement is a significant milestone, highlighting their determination and skill throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, Tonga clinched the 2024 Pacific Series trophy title with a 72-58 victory over Fiji's Pearl.
