Namibia is set to host the UFAK Region 5 Karate Championships in Swakopmund from June 20th to 23rd.
The event will take place at the MTC Dome Indoor Sporting Complex in the Erongo Region,
The three-day championship will feature boys and girls competing in various Karate categories, including Kumite and Kata, across different age groups ranging from 10 years old to veteran athletes.
The Championships will be attended by six countries-Namibia, Angola, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe to compete for regional honours.
Each category will see a maximum of four athletes representing their countries.
The competition aims to advance and develop Karate in Southern Africa, enhancing the skills and potential of young Karatekas on the African continent.
This event serves as preparation for the African Championships, which will be held in Tunis, Tunisia, from September 2nd to 8th.
