Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was recognised for her outstanding inter-generational leadership at the 2024 Nala Feminist (Nalafem) Summit.

The summit aims to promote innovation in digital access and education for girls and women, while also honoring the exceptional leadership of African women.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah sees the Feminist Summit as a journey to transform Africa into a better continent by advancing women's development and empowerment.

She emphasized the importance of women supporting and standing together, united towards a common goal.

The Vice President stated:

"The mission and vision are to make Africa the best continent, to create a world in which we can all be proud to live. As women, we have the responsibility to bring life into this world, and it is our duty to ensure that every individual we bring into this world sees themselves as an equally integral part of development at all times."

Alongside Namibia's Vice President, the awardees included Refilwe Lefilwe Ledwaba and Ramphele Mamphela from South Africa, Akech Deborah Kuocnin Malanyiel from South Sudan, and Ra Pascale Solages from Haiti.

They were recognized in categories such as inter-generational core leadership, access to justice, and partner of the year, each receiving a monetary prize of N$36,952.

The awardees expressed that Africa is rising and will demonstrate to the world that power is not a limited resource.

Dr. Ramphele Mamphela, an awardee from South Africa, stated:

"My dear sisters, my dear Vice President, and all of you, let us showcase the power of the feminine to bring life, joy, and be accountable to generations yet to come."

Pascale Solages, an awardee from Haiti, shared her message:

"This work is a call of love. It is not a destiny we choose, but a destiny that chooses us. Choosing to be an activist, a feminist, and a political woman, especially in Haiti, comes at a high price. It is a dangerous and lonely world, but we survive because of sisterhood."
