A transformative leadership camp to empower young boys, organised by the School of Destiny Association (SODA), is ongoing at the Ongeama Farm, just outside Okahandja.

Many boys are growing up in single-parent homes or are struggling with absent father figures, therefore, SODA is a programme that provides self-awareness, self-discipline, leadership skills, and character-building for young people.

The Boys Leadership Camp targets young boys between the ages of 12 and 20.

The programme involves group activities and interactions with each other and with mentors and coaches.

The Chief Executive Officer of SODA, Sidney Boois, says the programme is encouraging boys to be good at making decisions, to be self-dependent, and to become great leaders in life.

"This course is for a week, which is level one, which is foundation, and level two, which is going to be more on training. We believe the talk of boys is left behind. If we teach these boys how to behave, they can become entrepreneurs and successful people. This is why such career counselling is needed."

One of the camp's highlights was a visit from the renowned hip-hop artist, Jericho Gawa!Nab, who shared his story of overcoming adversity

At the end of the camp, boys who participated in the programme are expected to apply their knowledge, change their behaviour, and teach others what they have learned.
