The MTC Dome Namibia has successfully won the bid to host the 1st edition of Traditional Sports and Games in 2026.
 

The agreement was recently signed at the MTC Dome in Swakopmund.

This landmark event will bring together participants from around Africa to celebrate and compete in various traditional sports and games, showcasing cultural heritage and promoting unity through sports.

The event will feature a diverse range of sports categories, including Animal-Aided Sports, Ball Games, Batting Sports, Combat Sports, Dances, Mind Games, Racket Sports, Targeting Sports, Water Sports, and more.

The games are expected to draw significant international attention, highlighting Namibia's capacity to host large-scale events and fostering cultural exchange and understanding among diverse communities.

The selection of MTC Dome as the venue and host underscores Namibia's growing prominence on the global sports stage and its commitment to preserving and promoting traditional sports

 The African Traditional Sports and Games Confederation is proudly endorsed by the Africa Union Sports Council (AUSC) and UNESCO.

The environment of African Traditional Sports and Games holds immense potential to drive progressive social and economic change within our communities.

The 2026 Games will be organized under the theme "Infuse Cultural Diversity."
