A 58-year-old man plummeted to his death from a 15-metre-high water tower in Otjiwarongo on Saturday.
The deceased, who is yet to be identified, was part of a team contracted by Otjiwarongo Municipality to work on the tower.
According to NamPol's Community Liaison Officer in the Otjozondjupa Region, Senior Inspector Maureen-Mbeha, the incident occurred at one o'clock in the afternoon.
The deceased was part of a team employed by MES Investment Company to work on a leakage on the NamWater Tower.
Preliminary information indicated the deceased was not properly harnessed when he slipped and fell to his death.
The other unidentified man, who was with the deceased on top of the tower, had to be brought down using a crane.
Mbeha says deceased details cannot be released as his next of kin are yet to be informed.
The police investigation continues.
Otjiwarongo Municipality is also yet to issue a statement on the matter.
