The 14th edition of the annual Eenhana Trade and Business Expo attracted 192 local and international exhibitors from Zambia and Tanzania.

The Eenhana Expo, which started in 2008, grew to become a cornerstone in the council's efforts to market the town as a preferred investment destination and a stepping stone for many SMEs to trade their products and services nationally and across borders.

Speaking at the opening, the Minister in the Presidency, Christine Hoebes, says exhibitions create diverse pools of opportunities.

"The Namibian government remains steadfast in its commitment to support initiatives such as the Eenhana Expo. Government commitment is demonstrated by the presence of various government ministries, departments, and agency OMAs as exhibitors. Their presence affords business people the opportunities to directly engage ministry officials on the information required for operating businesses in compliance with government requirements."

Witnessing creativity in the various products and services offered by participating entrepreneurs is the most exciting aspect of the expo.

She further says SMEs are the backbone of the country's economy, and their participation demonstrates commitment to grow their businesses and create jobs.

Exhibitors trading at this year's expo are in different categories, such as SMEs, corporates, food and beverages, small stock, kapana traders, and agricultural produce.

Rani Group is the main sponsor of this year's expo.

Rani Group MD, Ali Dharani, says, "Supporting the expos is also supporting our vision because we want to be part of the community that supports us, that buys from us, and that supports us in our business, so we want to plough back in the community that we serve and in the community that we live."

Ohangwena Governor Sebastian Ndeitunga says expos have become a cornerstone of local economic efforts, serving as a dynamic platform where innovation and opportunities intersect and ideas transform into tangible progress.

"As we embark on the 14th edition, we celebrate the diversity of talents, businesses, and initiatives that continue to drive our local economy," says Ohangwena Governor Sebastian Ndeitunga.

The expo started on the 29th of July and will end on the 4th of August.

It is held under the theme of reviving the local economy through business, innovation, and diversification.
