A strong emphasis was placed on increasing the participation and representation of women at all decision-making levels to ensure that their voices are heard and their needs addressed.

These are among the key resolutions that emerged from the Pan African Women's Organisation's (PAW0) 62nd Anniversary commemoration.

PAWO experiences difficulties taking the lead in fostering synergies among African women.

The key resolutions thus aim to enhance the status of women and girls across the continent and address ongoing challenges.

AU member states are urged to ratify and implement essential legislative instruments, including the Maputo Protocol on Women's Rights, the Beijing Platform for Action, and the African Youth Charter.

These frameworks are deemed crucial to protecting the rights of women, girls, and boys throughout Africa and ensuring that legal protections have an impact.

The resolutions also call for an inclusive focus on children, addressing the needs and rights of both boys and girls in educational and social initiatives.

This approach aims to foster early gender equality and promote balanced foundational learning and early childhood development.

Other priorities include addressing women's peace and security issues, promoting economic independence, and enhancing community awareness about women's rights and existing laws and policies to create a more equitable society across Africa.
