The Office of the Labour Commissioner held a business re-engineering process consultation in order to identify and remove obstructions that hinder service delivery.

The workshop hosted by the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, and Employment Creation was attended by various stakeholders and aimed at redesigning the "As-Is Process," which was discussed on the 11th of July at the Office of the Labour Commissioner in the capital.

The process includes the elimination of non-value-adding activities, building end-to-end transparency, ensuring legislative compliance, and arranging tasks and projects in a systematic order to achieve common practices throughout the process.

The Acting Deputy Executive Director in the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, and Employment Creation, Aune Mudjanima, said some of their key goals include the enhancement of customer satisfaction as well as ensuring that quality service is provided in a timely manner.

She pointed out that the workshop will allow for the implementation of reform initiatives in order to improve customer service delivery as well as achieve intense performance enhancement.

"I should emphasise how important it is for an office to do business process re-engineering because it addresses mostly cost reduction by streamlining and optimising processes. Organisations such as us can reduce operational costs and eliminate inefficiency, and I think that is what we all want to do, looking at the current situation of our economic standard."

The Executive Director of the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, and Employment Creation, Lydia Indombo, said that the process is critical as it provides a platform for stakeholders to discuss the factors that contribute to customer satisfaction and service delivery.

"It is clear from the lesson learnt that through the as-is process, the system shows a dire need for improvement. The to-be process is very critical because it talks about a new future we envision as a ministry, and you should not miss the opportunity today to contribute to the future."
