One of the oldest schools in the Zambezi Region, Sibbinda Combined School, celebrated its 75th anniversary.
In its 75 years of existence, the school produced academics, administrators, teachers, and many other professionals.
Notable among them are the former executive director in the Ministry of Agriculture, Percy Masika; Professor John Lilemba, a former researcher at UNAM; the president of the National Democratic Party, Martin Lukato; and Dr. Charles Chata, the Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Education at UNAM's Katima Mulilo campus.
The Deputy Director for Programmes and Quality Assurance in the Zambezi Region, Mutonga Musunga, said the school still faces learning and teaching challenges.
Musunga appealed to both parents and teachers to play their part in producing better learners and creating a conducive environment for learning.
He also commended stakeholders who are meaningfully playing their part in improving education in the region.
On this occasion, the school received a donation of uniforms from a local businessman, who also pledged N$25,000 towards the fencing of the school and school grounds development.
