The Roads Authority has issued a public notice to all road users regarding scheduled blasting operations on a construction site near the Windhoek-Rehoboth Road.
The fourth blasting took place on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, approximately one kilometer from the Police Road Block.
The operation lasted approximately an hour.
In light of the blasting, a section of the road, stretching from the construction site to the Police Road Block, was temporarily closed.
Motorists were urged to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
Ester Raymund, the safety officer at the site, provided further details on the operation.
"As you can see, we are busy constructing a road, starting from there all the way to the road where they are meeting. The aim is, I believe, till Rehoboth, so this mountain, as you can see, is where the road needs to go through. We just finished with the blasting, and we will continue with the blasting until the whole mountain comes down."
She also mentioned that another round of blasting is scheduled to take place in 10 days.
"Lets say in the next 10-12 to 15 days, but we always advertised it on nbc, news papers, and different radio stations to alert the road users, especially the one that goes through Windhoek and Rehoboth, to be aware that there is blasting and the road will be close so that everyone can stay safe."
Further updates on the next blast will be provided.
