The Arysteq Asset Management and Simmons Storm School Tournament Series continued with its fifth event last week  Saturday, attracting 50 young players from across Namibia.

The tournament, aimed at promoting and developing table tennis in Namibia, featured competitions in various age groups, including U/11, U/13, U/15, U/17, and U/19.

Despite the sport's relatively low popularity in the country, the tournament was a resounding success. Rudi Soundeson, President of the Namibia Table Tennis Association, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and participation.

Theo Beukes, Development Officer, echoed Soundeson's sentiments while acknowledging the challenges of securing venues and financial support.

He was nonetheless pleased with the tournament's outcome.

The young participants, many of whom celebrated their victories, demonstrated promising talent for the future of table tennis in Namibia.

This tournament is part of a six-part series, with one more event scheduled later this year.

The organizers remain committed to growing the sport in Namibia.
