President Nangolo Mbumba stated that the Swapo Party remains committed to serving the Namibian people and called on delegates at the Electoral College to demonstrate exemplary leadership.
The Swapo Party Electoral College Convention began today at the Gateway Centre in Khomasdal, with President Nangolo Mbumba, a former Secretary General of Swapo, reminding delegates of the importance of selfless service.
"The comrades elected here must not only represent Swapo in the National Assembly but also work diligently to achieve people-centered development and bring us closer to victory in the second struggle for economic liberation for all Namibian people. Your main priority is to ensure that Swapo gains a strong mandate to govern Namibia for the next five years."
Over 200 delegates have gathered to elect the party's list for the national assembly.
Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Swapo Party's Vice President and Presidential Candidate, urged delegates to vote for capable leaders.
"As we all know, a legislative arm of our state is crucial for creating laws. Creating laws requires cadres who are well-versed and fully understand the law-making process. In addition to this, they must also understand the needs of the people and familiarize themselves with international issues, as Namibia is part of the Global Village."
