Namibia's duo, Lahja Ishitile and Sem Shimanda, made their mark on the Paris Paralympics, securing a gold medal and setting a new world record in the Women's 400m T11 race on Saturday.

The Namibian Paralympic team has a history of consistently delivering at the international stage, and this trend continued over the weekend as the team once again put Namibia on the map with their exceptional performance.

Saturday's achievement was just another reminder of the incredible talent of Namibian Paralympic athletes and their ability to excel on the international stage.

Ishitile's golden run did not go unnoticed, as many have applauded her for her stellar performance.

Coach of the Namibian Paralympics Team, Letu Hamhola, said that Ishitile's performance is not surprising and is a result of her hard work.

The Chief Administrator of the Namibia Sport Commission, Freddy Mwiya, expressed his excitement about Team Namibia's gold medal at the games.

This is Ishitile's third Paralympics, but this year's Games marked a significant milestone for her career.

While Namibian able-bodied athletes have yet to win a gold medal at the Olympics, Paralympic athletes have so far brought home three gold medals, thanks to Ananias Shikongo, Johanna Benson, and now Lahja Ishitile.

Both Shikongo and Benson were gifted homes by the government with support from the private sector.

Meanwhile, Ishitile and Sem Shimanda has advanced to the final of the T11 100m today after finishing second behind Brazil's Lorena Silva Spoladore and guide Renato Ben Hur Costa Oliviera.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for Ishitile.
