The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has donated medical equipment to the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

The items that were handed over have been in the state warehouses for nearly two years after they were confiscated from traders at different points of entry due to non-compliance.

As a result, these goods were forfeited to the state.

The Senior Manager for Border Control and Operational Compliance at NamRA, Abner David, said the goods were not declared for more than 90 days.

The medical ophthalmology-related medical equipment at the Windhoek Central Hospital includes microscopes, headlights for surgeries, and eye operation tools, as well as disinfectants.

The Senior Medical Superintendent at Central Hospital, Sarah Shalongo, applauded the agency for the medical goods.
