The third edition of the National Youth Games in Oshana region concluded with resounding success, despite facing logistical hurdles.

The event, held from 12 September to 14 September, showcased the nation's young sporting talent and served as a valuable preparation for the upcoming Region 5 games.

The event was a platform for young athletes from 14 regions to compete in various sport and showcase their talents.

The games are hosted with the aim of developing future stars, giving youngsters a platform to nurture and hone their skills.

The Ministry of Sports provided a budget of N$10 million to support the event.

Despite facing challenges such as food, transport, and unsanitary accommodation, the games successfully concluded.

These challenges sparked controversy on social media. Against this backdrop, the Chief Administrator of the Namibia Sports Commission addressed the speculations.

The Executive Director of the Ministry of Sport, Youth and National service also echoed the sentiments of the Chief Administrator, commending the organising committee for a job well done.

The games were held in three towns, namely Oshakati, Ongwediva and Ondangwa.
