As Namibia's oil and gas sector gains momentum, there is a strong focus on developing the necessary skills for its success. 

Selected government officials and industry stakeholders are participating in health, safety, security, and environment training to meet regulatory requirements and conduct inspections of offshore oil and gas sites.

The potential for further oil and gas discoveries in Namibia remains highly promising, with more operators launching exploration campaigns both onshore and offshore, expected to commence later this year. 

As a developing country, Namibia aims to establish itself as an investment hub and to ensure that it reaps the benefits from these sectors. 

The discovered reserves hold the potential to provide significant economic advantages through royalties, corporate taxes, and job creation should these discoveries advance to fuel development.

Consequently, there is an increasing demand for regulatory services from both the government and industry stakeholders.

To meet this demand, it is crucial to have a well-trained and informed workforce that can address the associated risks of delays and inadequate services. 

Petrofund CEO Nillian Mulemi emphasised the importance of this training and the need for collaboration among stakeholders to ensure sustained demand for oil and gas, along with the effective delivery of regulatory services.

Participants will hear from various industry experts and will gain a fundamental understanding of oil and gas occurrences, as well as the technical and operational aspects of both onshore and offshore exploration and production activities.
