Sport Producer Erickson Tapiso with more.
Teams from the Oshana region and surrounding areas are invited to attend the open warm-up tournament this weekend to scout their top eleven players and strengthen their squads.
The tournament is open to first, second, and third-division players, aiming to promote good sportsmanship and friendship among the participating teams.
NBC Sport spoke to Erickson Pohamba, one of the organisers and administrators of the Oshana Village-Based Football League, to shed more light on the tournament's goals.
Pohamba highlighted that another key aim of the tournament is to identify top talent and steer players away from harmful activities, promoting football as a positive influence.
Although the tournament lacks full sponsorship, Pohamba believes its future is promising, especially in terms of developing football in the region.
The Warm-Up Cup Tournament is set to take place this weekend, from October 12th to 13th, at the Akuna Sports Field.
