The ||Kharas Region also commenced with the training of polling officials.

The weeklong training that will focus on the secrecy of ballots and the importance of the election is being attended by close to 300 officials.

"Today we are training in clusters, Keetmanshoop-Urban, Keetmanshoop-Rural, and Berseba constituencies. The total number of participants is 287; for Keetmanshoop-Urban, it's 77; for Keetmanshoop-Rural, it's 84; and Berseba constituency is 126 participants," explained Returning Officer Rosalin Karamin.

The polling officials will be deployed soon after the training, which ends on November 23rd.

"The farthest teams like Keetmans-Rural and Berseba will be the first ones to be deployed, and then Keetmans-Urban will be deployed late afternoon, but political parties will be part of us during this process."

A group of youngsters who were apparently called to report for the training by the ECN Head Office were not allowed into the training venue.

In response, ECN Electoral Officer for ||Kharas, Jejamaije Mujoro, said the electoral body is working on the matter.
