Voting at the Omao polling station in the Opuwo Rural Constituency was going at a snail's pace when the nbc News team visited in the afternoon.

The presiding officer, Ndjamba Mutjavikua, explained that the process was slow as they were catering for voters who lived in the remotest part of the region.

Mutjavikua also shared the team's experience in the field, saying they were not prepared to stay this long and didn't prepare very well in that regard.

Omao village is located 70 kilometres from Opuwo.

Meanwhile, the verification and auditing for the Opuwo Rural Constituency were underway at the time of our visit.

Returning Officer Hivirikee Kauriri told nbc News that they were still waiting for the nine teams where voting was still taking place.

He says for now everything was going well, apart from some teams that were experiencing minor challenges with the tablets for verification.

Kauriri expressed confidence that they will complete the verification and auditing on time.

The Collation Centre of the verification and auditing process is taking place at the Musaso Combined School at Otuani Village.

At the Otuani polling station in the Opuwo Rural Constituency, the voting process too was moving very slowly.

Around two o'clock in the afternoon, when the nbc News team visited the polling station, Kaunamuinjo Tjikotoke said only four people cast their vote.

He therefore called on those who hadn't voted to make their way to the polling station before nine.
