The Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism has announced the appointment of five new board members to the Game Products Trust Fund.
The members will oversee the management and allocation of funds derived from game products and natural resources.
Their key responsibilities include supporting wildlife conservation initiatives, promoting sustainable use of wildlife resources, mitigating human-wildlife conflict, and ensuring that local communities benefit from wildlife conservation efforts in Namibia.
The new board members include Colgar Sikopo, Mclesia Mbaisa, Doreen Saisai, Kandiwapa Amwele, and Thomas Muronga.
They will serve a three-year term starting from the 30th of November to the 30th of October 2027.
Minister Pohamba Shifeta urges the new members to dedicate themselves to their duties, emphasizing the growing importance of the fund in supporting conservation and community development.
He cautioned the members that he would not hesitate to replace them if they failed to deliver on their mandate.

It provides financial support for wildlife management programs, anti-poaching initiatives, and community-based natural resource management projects.
