The Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service has appointed an interim board of the National Youth Council (NYC).

The interim members, Curtis Andrew, Beverly Silas, Hendrik Theofius, Vistoria Itta, and Ngoshi Panduleni, are tasked with facilitating the convening of the General Assembly and will serve as the electoral committee for the General Assembly.

The minister has assured the public that none of the interim board members will be eligible for election to any positions during the General Assembly to ensure impartiality.

They will run the operations of NYC for six months or until the completion of its tasks, whichever comes first.

Minister Agnes Tjongarero, in a statement issued today, explained that the decision was made to prevent a leadership vacuum and ensure the effective execution of the Council’s functions.
