Heavy rains left some families in Rundu's Suncity area devastated, as their houses were destroyed.

The rainstorm on Tuesday evening left family members destitute, and some are still struggling to rebuild their dwellings. 

One of the affected residents, Camahia Alberto, described how he was called by a neighbour who informed him of the damage to his house. Upon his arrival, he found his house totally destroyed, with zinc lying all over the place.

Alberto estimates the damage to his house, valued at around N$50,000, adding that it will take him years to rebuild his house. 

No one was injured during the rainstorm.
