The police in the Otjozondjupa Region have recorded two murder cases on Christmas Eve.
The region's Community Liaison Officer, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, says one of the murders occurred at Otjiwarongo's Tsaxa-Aibes location of an unidentified Angolan man who was stabbed to death with a knife.
According to reports, the victim was reportedly stabbed in the chest by a fellow Angolan national, who is still on the run but known to the police.
Another murder was reported at Doring Laagte plot, Otjiwarongo, where an unidentified man was caught red-handed stealing goats from the kraal of the suspect.
The police say a fight broke out after which the suspect, an Angolan national, overpowered the victim and strangled him to death.
The suspect is due to appear before the Otjiwarongo Magistrate's Court on Friday.
In a separate incident, 34-year-old Harm Jan Kolver was electrocuted at farm Swarkroon in the area of Hochfeld.
The body of Kolver, who was a farm manager, was discovered by his employee, who followed him to work with him on a faulty transformer that supplied power to the irrigation system.
The police say an ambulance was called, but he died later on his way to the hospital.
Three male suspects between the ages of 31 and 47 were nabbed at the roadblock at Grootfontein after they were found in possession of 54 smartphones allegedly stolen from a clothing store in Rundu earlier this week.
Senior Inspector Mbeha says the suspects were also found with N$19,000, and the vehicle they were driving in was impounded.
