Spending the final day of the year at church provides an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and seeking direction for the year ahead. Many find peace and renewal through prayer, worship, or quiet meditation during this time.

Pastor Markus Nauiseb of Faith Dimension Kingdom Church emphasised the importance of dedicating this day to connecting with God, especially as the year draws to a close.

Pastor Nauiseb says many people choose to end the year with a spiritual focus, setting intentions for personal growth, strength, and faith in the coming months.

He added that choosing to gather in God's presence rather than following the typical ways people spend the last day of the year shows a deep commitment to faith and community.

He further says that it can be a powerful way to reflect on God's blessings over the past year, seek His guidance for the year ahead, and strengthen the bonds within the congregation.

Nauiseb believes that the peace and purpose found in worshipping together as a family of believers can be a meaningful way to mark the transition into a new year.

"The word of God declares in the book of revelations, chapter 1, verse 6, that God is the alpha and omega, so everything begins, and everything, and for him, he declared and said to whom who is thirsty, I will give a fountain, so we must understand that the end is the beginning of the new, where a season ends and new begins the last Sunday of the year, always demonstrating a powerful aspect of a Christian because you are preparing for the new year."

Those who have lost faith this year are encouraged to hold on to what they believe in, as there is light at the end of the trail.

"My encouragement to all the believers is that yes, you went through a lot of challenges. You went through a lot of failures. It's significant that you need to understand that it is the process that we are in as the new year is at the dawn of your life. It means that you can never give up. I encourage you to stand up to try again because everything that you haven't seen in your life is for a reason, and it means that what you have learnt becomes your experience, and your faith is built up on that."
