Namibia witnessed an exceptional year in rhythmic gymnastics in 2024, marked by outstanding competitions and achievements.
The Namibian Gymnastics Federation kicked off the year with its first national qualifying event, featuring nine clubs from across the country.
This was followed by the highly anticipated Senior Namibian National Rhythmic Championships in Walvis Bay, which brought together 113 talented gymnasts from all over Namibia.
Namibian gymnasts also shone brightly on the international stage, with a team of 24 artistic and rhythmic gymnasts securing numerous medals in global competitions.
Section President Britt Adonis-Byll stated that the recent successes underscore the rising prominence of rhythmic gymnastics in Namibia, reflecting the unwavering commitment of athletes and organizations to the development and growth of the sport.
In Namibia, as in many other countries, rhythmic gymnastics has been growing in popularity, especially among young girls seeking to enhance their physical fitness and artistic expression.
Adonis-Byl emphasized that the 2025 season will build on the successes of 2024, promising even greater opportunities for gymnasts to shine.
According to her, the upcoming year will not only continue the momentum established in 2024 but also introduce new initiatives aimed at elevating the sport to even greater heights.
She hinted at ambitious plans already in motion, including expanded competitions, advanced training programs, and increased international participation for Namibian gymnasts.
These efforts aim to provide athletes with broader exposure and the tools to achieve excellence on both the local and global stages.
With this forward-looking approach, the gymnastics community in Namibia can anticipate an exciting year filled with growth, innovation, and success.
