For some parents, the beginning of school is the most stressful time of the year. This is also the case with some parents in Otjiwarongo's informal settlements.

With schools set to open, most parents are worried about finding the right sizes for their children and also all items on the stationery list. But some parents simply cannot afford to buy new uniforms and more stationery. 

Old and worn-out school uniforms from last year might again have to be used as there's no hope for new ones. 

Some parents with no means of income have up to six school-going children.

Some children are also not registered for school as parents do not have the required fees.
