The voting process began smoothly at the two polling stations at Oshivelo and Ondera farms for the Guinas Constituency by-election in the Oshikoto Region this morning.

At the Oshivelo Police Station polling station, voting started slow, resulting in a short queue and quick voting.

Voting also kicked off well at Farm Oshivelo, also moving at a slow pace.

Both young and old could be seen walking in small groups and individually to polling stations to cast their votes.

The presiding officer at Farm Oshivelo, Ndahafa Haimbondi, says everything is in order, and there were no hiccups encountered at the polling station.

ECN Commissioner Pius Iikwambi is pleased with the voting process at Farm Oshivelo, Oshivelo police station, and Ondera farm polling stations.

Two political parties, the Landless People's Movement (LPM) and the Swapo Party, are contesting the Guinas Constituency by-election.

The by-election was necessitated by the death of former Guinas Constituency Councillor Elias Martinus, last year.
