The Erongo Police made a shocking discovery over the weekend, finding three human remains in different locations across the region, Otjimbingwe, Tubusis, and Okombahe.
Among the discoveries was the body of 64-year-old Katrina Paulina Boois, who had been missing since August 10, 2024. Her remains were found on Saturday at around 10:00 at Dawe Tsaub Farm, on the outskirts of Otjimbingwe.
According to the police report, a farmer was searching for his cattle in the riverbed when he stumbled upon skeletal remains. He immediately alerted the authorities, who confirmed that the remains consisted of a backbone, ribs, and a skull. A family member later identified the remains as belonging to Boois.
In a separate case, the body of 34-year-old Andries Oaeb was discovered by residents of Farm Okajio, near Okombahe. His remains were found in an open field and later transported to the Okombahe State Clinic mortuary for certification and storage. A postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death, though no foul play is suspected at this stage. The deceased’s next of kin have been informed, and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, a third body, that of an unidentified man believed to be in his late 40s, was found by a herder in a field at Farm Tubusis Pos 2. The decomposed body is described as that of a dark-complexioned male, approximately 1.65 meters tall. Authorities estimate that he may have died about a month ago. He was wearing green shorts but had no shirt or shoes at the time of discovery.
The unidentified body has been taken to the Walvis Bay Police mortuary for identification and further examination. Efforts to trace his family have so far been unsuccessful. Police are urging the public to assist in identifying him.
Investigations into all three cases continue.
