NamPol arrested 14 individuals over the weekend on charges related to drug possession and distribution.
Various substances, including cannabis, mandrax, and skunk, were seized during these arrests.
In Rehoboth, multiple arrests took place in separate incidents. On Friday, a 40-year-old woman was apprehended in Block E after police found her in possession of various amounts of cannabis valued at N$740. Later that day, two men, aged 23 and 33, were caught trying to flush drugs, including skunk and cannabis worth N$600, down a toilet. Another drug-related arrest in Block F involved two men, aged 20 and 28, along with a 17-year-old girl, who were found with mandrax tablets and cannabis valued at N$600.
On Saturday, a 27-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were arrested in Block E for possessing mandrax, cannabis, and skunk worth N$3,620. Additionally, three men, aged 22, 22, and 27, were arrested in Banhoff, Rehoboth, with mandrax, cannabis, and skunk valued at N$4,250.
In Omulunga, a 47-year-old man was arrested on Friday morning after police discovered a cannabis plantation in his yard in Blikkiesdorp, Grootfontein. The 21 plants weighed 1,990 grams and were estimated to be worth N$19,900.
In Stampriet, a 22-year-old man was caught with three bankies of skunk worth N$150 during a police search on Friday.
Another case was reported in Ncaute, Kavango West, on Friday, where a 19-year-old man was found with 11 ballies of cannabis. The value of these drugs has yet to be determined.
