The City of Windhoek has announced its March 2025 intake for the Firefighter One and HAZMAT Awareness training programs. 

The initiative aims to equip participants with practical skills for firefighting and hazardous material management.

The Firefighter One program, lasting 14 weeks, is designed for newly appointed firefighters in local authorities, volunteers, and individuals seeking a career in firefighting.

Prerequisites include a minimum of 20 points in Grade 11 (new curriculum) or 23 points in Grade 10 (old curriculum).

Candidates must be physically fit with no fear of darkness (nyctophobia) or water (aquaphobia), have no physical inability, and be capable of completing a 2.4-kilometer run within 12 minutes.
