To enhance road infrastructure in Outapi, the Outapi Town Council, Road Fund Administration (RFA), and Road Administration (RA) have signed a two-year Memorandum of Agreement.
This agreement will facilitate the upgrading of sections of the main road to Ruacan, the construction of stormwater drainage systems and pavements, and the improvement of the main roads connecting Outapi to Tsandi and Okapalelona.
Ali Ipinge, the Chief Executive Officer of RFA, stated that the project will benefit both the town of Outapi and its road users. He highlighted that the signing of the agreement reflects their commitment to addressing the development needs of urban areas, settlements, and villages.
Dr. Conrad Lutombi, the Chief Executive Officer of RA, echoed these sentiments, underscoring the significance of collaborative efforts in road development.
Mayor Selma Asino of Outapi praised RA and RFA for their support, stressing the urgent need for road improvements due to frequent flooding on many roads in the town.
The three parties have pledged to provide additional support for road development and maintenance, aligning their efforts with Namibia’s Vision 2030.
