Namibia Football Association (NFA) General Secretary Charles Siyauya has sadly passed away on Tuesday after being admitted to the hospital yesterday in Windhoek.

The NFA confirmed the news.

Charles Sikabongo Siyauya had been with the Football Association for just over 11 months, having been appointed in April last year to succeed interim General Secretary Jochen Traut.

His sudden passing has sent shockwaves through the football community, leaving a deep void.

He was last seen attending a meeting on Sunday at Soccer House with NFA Executive Council members and officials from the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA).

The meeting focused on football matters related to the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games, which Namibia is set to host in July this year.

That engagement appears to have been his final public appearance.
