President Nangolo Mbumba will bid farewell to the staff of the Presidency.

Press Secretary Dr. Alfredo Hengari stated that President Mbumba will deliver a statement to the staff during a ceremony at State House today.

Dr. Mbumba assumed the Presidency on February 6, 2024, following the death of President Hage Geingob.

President Mbumba will step down on March 21 of this year, after handing over the reins to President-elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

Nandi-Ndaitwah will be sworn in as Namibia's 5th President, having garnered 57 percent of the vote in the 2024 general elections.

President Mbumba, heading into retirement, has held several government positions, including Vice-President, Minister of Finance, Minister of Education, Minister of Agriculture, and first Secretary to Cabinet after independence.
