Namibia has launched the first Bloomberg Finance Lab at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), the first of its kind in Africa.

The lab will provide students and financial professionals with access to real-time financial data, news, and analytics via Bloomberg Terminals so they can understand global markets.

Bloomberg, a leader in financial data and news, offers educational initiatives to enhance financial literacy and skills.

The Bloomberg Finance Lab at NUST aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, equipping students with vital skills for success in the financial sector.

Equipped with 12 Bloomberg Terminals, the lab places NUST among over one thousand global institutions using this technology.

The Bloomberg Terminal provides real-time data, analytics, news, and trading tools that help users make informed decisions and connect with a global professional network.

Speakers at the event highlighted that the lab will provide valuable financial, competitive, investment and professional training.

It will also foster investment skills development across Namibia, enabling individuals to access financial job markets and enhance their career opportunities.

The lab will prepare graduates to join Namibia's expanding financial sector and provide academics and researchers with advanced tools for data-driven research and policy development.

The Bloomberg Finance Lab is launched in partnership with NUST, MTC and the Namibia Investment and Finance Academy.
