Walvis Bay shuttle drivers have expressed frustration and anger towards Windhoek-based tourism agencies for "monopolising bookings and leaving fewer customers for smaller shuttle services in the township."

This is despite the influx of tourists brought in by cruise liners.

Walvis Bay, a key destination, sees a significant number of international passengers arriving on cruise ships.

These tourists want excursions around the town and its surrounding areas, providing a lucrative opportunity for shuttle drivers.

However, many drivers are now voicing concerns that the larger, more established tourism agencies are securing the majority of these bookings from Windhoek, which is more than 350 kilometres away.
