Thirty-nine Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across the country have received a financial boost from Hope Initiative Southern Africa Namibia.

This support, valued at N$ 340,000, is designed to help these businesses grow and recover from recent challenges.

The SMEs underwent a selection process to identify those demonstrating innovation, sustainability, and potential for growth.

This initiative is the first of its kind to provide financial support to third parties and reflects HISA's commitment to strengthening grassroots civil society organizations.

In addition to financial assistance, Hope Initiative Southern Africa conducted a two-day capacity-building workshop that focused on financial management, budgeting, gender equality, and youth empowerment.

HISA's National Program Director encouraged beneficiaries to remain committed to their entrepreneurial journeys despite challenges.

"With what you have achieved so far, earning the support and trust of others is commendable. Imagine what you could accomplish with even greater resources. It’s not just about receiving support; it’s about building trust and delivering results."

Shannon Monaghan, a representative of the EU, emphasized that the grant handover is intended to transform lives and make a meaningful impact in society.

"Financial support to third parties is essential for empowering grassroots organizations with flexible funding that aligns with local priorities. This approach enhances institutional capacity and increases the potential for larger support."

This initiative marks the seventh program funded by the European Union in support of communities.
