A group of people from the Blouwes Community are demanding answers from the Office of the ||Kharas Governor, Aletha Fredericks, regarding grievances they lodged against the Blouwes Traditional Authority.
Shouting and displaying placards, some written 'enough is enough, we want answers', the aggrieved group marched to the governor's office.
Among their grievances were the alleged misappropriation of funds intended for community development and the illegal allocation of land in the communal area.
The protesters demanded that the governor publicly respond with a clear resolution plan and initiate an independent audit into the Hompa/Onani funds paid to the traditional authority.
Additionally, they urged the governor to engage the Ministry of Education to finalise a long-standing investigation into issues at Blouwes Primary School.
Calling for an anti-corruption commission probe into the misappropriation of funds, the protesters also urged the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development to suspend the monthly allowances of traditional councillors, dissolve the traditional council, and investigate illegal land allocations.
Governor Fredericks received the petition.
The protesters threatened to escalate their protest action through the national media and legal campaign if the governor fails to respond within seven days.
